June 13, 2026 - New world screwworm has been found in parts of Texas.
Check your pets and livestock often. If you see unusual wounds or maggots, do not move the animal . Call the Texas Animal Health Commission at (800) 550‑8242 or contact a private veterinarian.
For wildlife with suspicious wounds or maggots, notify park staff or call (512) 389‑4505.
**Boating Notices**
June 25, 2025 - Due to very low lake levels:
Exercise extra caution when operating watercraft on the lake. We recommend only using kayaks or bank fishing.
The following boat ramps are closed:
South Shore
Hwy. 99
Mason Point
Calliham
**Unit Closures**
The South Shore unit will be closed on the following dates:
5 p.m. on Nov. 30 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 3
The Calliham unit will be closed on the following dates:
5p.m. on Jan. 4 to 10 p.m. Jan. 8
Only permitted hunters will be allowed on these dates.
