There is a boat ramp open in the Army Corps of Engineers area on the South Side. Lake levels are very low and boaters are advised to use caution. Shoreline launching of trailered boats is not allowed. Hand launching of paddle craft and smaller vessels from the shoreline is allowed. Trailered boats must launch from the south boat ramp.
One of the state's largest lakes, cut into secluded coves, canyons, and sandy beaches northwest of Tucumcari. Miles of shoreline mean room to boat, fish, and camp well away from anyone else.
