About Heron Lake State Park

A no-wake “quiet lake” among tall pines — ideal water for canoes, kayaks, and sailboats, with record trout and kokanee salmon. The Rio Chama trail crosses the river by suspension bridge for panoramic views and an adventurous route on to El Vado Lake.

$5 per adult (13+) — Day use $5 NM resident (no charge Oct 1 - Apr 30), $10 non-resident; walk-in and bicycle free. Camping per night: primitive $10 resident / $15 non-resident, developed $15 resident / $20 non-resident. Hookups add $5 water, $10 electric, $5 sewer per day.
